Question Adding Clouds to Mental Ray Daylight in 3DSMax

I have been trying to add a cloud texture to my Mental Ray Daylight scene. I have found some tutorials from earlier versions of 3DSMax but nothing for 2012.

From what I have seen there is a way to tie an image into the environmental shader, but don't yet understand how to achieve that process.

Any suggestions?

Thank you!
Josh

Perhaps you can try putting the cloud texture on a transparency map? Are you using Daylight system?

Hmm, yes I am using the Mental Ray Daylight system right now. Would the trans map be applied to the Daylight system or applied to a large sphere similar to HDRI lighting reflection panels?

Thanks!

Yes applied to a large sphere/dome, that's the method that I've used before. Or you could always comp in After Effects.. D:
