1.does it support fur/hair?
2.is the previewer CPU based or GPU based..or both (hybrid)?
3. network rendering - how many free nodes?

I never ever want to see a promotional video for a render engine again starting with a car render in a studio environment - this can even look good in scanline, it is SO unimpressive.
You guys seriously did an amazing and impressive job in coding this software and integrate it into max - why present it so weak?
Only thing that got my attention was the support for FlowGraph, that is really nice

Quoted for agreement. Very few dare show an interior that relies on light bounces.

Since it uses Backburner, I'd assume it's the same for scanline and MR.

I noticed 2 GPU modes out of the list of 5 or so rendering modes. Interesting to say the least

Looks really awesome. I will download the trial later to give it a try.

Is there going to be a Maya version?

from the youtube comments:

About the previewer it support all the renderers including in Thea standalone so it is CPU based but GPU will be released as free upgrade.

Ghehe, agree, but look at the galleries of many CG sites and cars, cyborg chicks and the like is what you see most
On the serious side, it's probably a testing situation where important aspects of the renderer like (inter)reflections, refraction and other shading types are present in one example.
Dull, yes. Functional, yes.
