Roughing up a cube but ever so slightly

I'm scratching my head (my new C4D head) trying to figure out if there is a way to rough up a cube shape just ever so slightly. I want to make a hedge out of a cube shape and texture it with a hedge image. I could make a displacement map out of the texture image, but I haven't done that yet, so I was wondering if there was a way of going this in C4D without using displacement.

Thanks Lee, that's greyed out for me.
Would Displacer work? I looked in the Help file and I can't see how to do anything with it.

Just looking at your reel, Lee. Very impressive. All on C4D?

yes.. all c4d most with varyc4d, thanks..

You need to be in either point/edge or polygon mode and the cube must be collapsed. in htat it is not a privative.

I had hit 'C', but hadn't used selected any of the poly tools you describe. Now that I have, it seems like an incredibly useful manipulator. So long as I make many segments beforehand, otherwise it won't look like a natural hedge.

But I guess a few more ploys is quicker to render than a displacement map. Or maybe I'm wrong.
