HCR MINI-Challenge #37: Femme Fatale! -MaarsInNY - GoGo Yubari from Kill Bill

Hi All,
It took me a week to think this over. After tossing a few ideas off my roommate I decided that I definitely didn't want to do a superhero or a mash-up. I wanted to find a true Femme Fatale character. A woman that I would shudder to touch, for fear that I might loose that hand (knowing me I'd still do it anyways). Then I remembered the bar scene from Kill Bill.

You know the one where the wealthy yet ugly guy tries to pickup the hot young girl! MMMM we've all been there right!?!?! Then she stabs him! MMMMM we've all been there right?!? Ah, I've found my true femme fatale, GoGo Yubari.

GoGo Yubari Photo Reference

Like most of you, I've scoured the internet and compiled my photo reference of the character. This is my GoGo Collage:

Chaiki Kuriyama Photo Reference

I've also compiled photo reference for the actress who plays GoGo, her name is Chaiki Kuriyama. Who knew she is also a singer and a model since childhood! I tried to find photos that not only capture her beauty, but show off her dynamic personality, in hopes of finding interesting facial expressions for the GoGo character.

Absolutely my favorite kill bill villain!
This should be very nice.

GOGO First WIP

Hi all. I wanted to post my rough model with rough textures. It's sans, shirt, shoes & the whirlly spikey ball. Plenty more to go!

I'm going to take a break from modeling and sketch out what I want my final pose to look like. Then I will finish modeling to the sketch. I do know that I want a mannequin/diorama feel to the final render.

My apologies for no workflow posts. I just gave up on that since I don't have the time. I'm enjoying the challenge!

That Darn FiberFX

So I was double dipping, playing around with fiber FX for work and my modeling challenge. This is my first time using it, so be kind. I realize I need to style the hair chains a bit and also for some reason I couldn't get the texture to show up on the long hairs the way it is on the short hairs..

It looks to me like you pretty much nailed the face. The likeness in the last shot with the hair is really good. The figure is also spot on.
