need help baking object animation

Hey all,

Have a technical question. I have this animated shoe that I've animated with Max bones and morph targets. I have an After Effects editor who is going to use trapcode form plugin to create some whispy trails behind the shoe. I need to get her an obj sequence of the animated shoe (which is secondary problem) but first I need to figure out how to bake the max bones/morphers/etc into vertex animation of the shoe. I've tried every script on scriptspot that I thought looked relevant and have had no success, anyone been able to do something similar? I have also had problems exporting obj animated sequence so any help with this step would be much appreciated as well

right, Ive used the point cache modifier, but as far as I know you have to have that modifier attached. It puts the vertex info to another file but you cant use it conjunction with obj export right?

Does FBX suits your needs?

unfortunately trapcode form (after effects plugin) wont accept FBX. A friend gave me an idea to take a snapshot of every frame then export all meshes as separate objs so Im gonna try that.

I know theree are a few scripts to export obj sequences. Here's one of them.

thanks for the suggestion, I actually got it working with doing a snapshot of the animation then a friend wrote me a script to export each mesh out to obj.
