I think normally it should be rightclick->remove

thanks! that worked with the copys. But its not working with the original node. I got a hunch I have like 20 of them stacked up one right on top of the other from all my clicking on it.

Are you dropping a Material, or a Texture Tag in the viewport?

Normally a Material won't drop into the viewport unless you're on an object.
Do what you want to do, not what you think you want to do.

Hi.. that are HUD elements, you can either disable HUD from view filters (but i will disable all the other HUD elements too) or you should be able to shift-clic making a multiple selection and then right clic and remove all at once
