That trailer looks "allright" to me at best.

Somehow I don't think this will be as good as LOTR was.

Maybe I'm wrong of course...

The book itself is not like LOTR, to me it is more like preparation for LOTR, exercise.
I will watch it if nothing just for Martin Freeman

The outdoor scenes will probably be awesome on the big screen. It has a lot to live up to, expectations will be high after LOTR.

I like Peter Jackson as a director... don't get me wrong... so I'll watch this when it hits DVD.

I just don't think the trailer looks very interesting.

Maybe there is cool stuff they are not showing yet... who knows...

the look and cg of the movie is the least of anyones concerns when it comes to lotr because of the established pedigree. its the other stuff that can be wishy washy.

I think its going to be a lot of fun personally.
Is it just me or did Gollums eyes get bigger?

Yeah, Gollum looks somewhat younger as well. And happier. These definitely were happier times for him

And is that frail, old man supposed to be Beorn?

The sets and costumes are so obvious

Dont know if its because of the RED cameras, compositing or lighting... (probably a combination of)

I'm so worried for this movie (movies?) at the moment. LOTR is sacred to me, and so far this looks over saturated, far too clean, and just feels somehow less believable than LOTR. I really really hope PJ can make this live up to LOTR. Problem is, if this is too far from LO TR, people like me will get pissed off, but if its too close to LOTR, others will be pissed off that its not child friendly enough and strayed too far from the book...
Its just hard for me seeing Rivendell look like its had the Avatar treatment and gollum looking like he's wearing blusher...

Fingers crossed for the best, but i'm nervous! Come on PJ, don't let me (and thousands of other impossible to please fans) down, we're counting on you!
