IFX Piranha price drop and OSX port

I never saw anyone post this so here goes.

Piranha 7 is a complete editing and finishing system for Linux and MacOsx.

It used to be out of reach for most (25K) but now $995

some words and link to intro on Piranha from Kyle Mallory over at dvxuser.com

I had started a thread over at RedUser where I frequent much more than I do here, discussing IFX's Piranha 7, which was released at NAB, with a MAJOR price drop to $995, and an no-time-limit, feature-restricted, downloadable trial version. For those unfamiliar with Piranha (which is just about everyone), it is a GPU accelerated NLE and VFX/Motion Graphics finishing "platform". It's not really fair to call it a suite, since its a single program that does just about everything, as opposed to a handful of programs that you have to continually move your project between. In any case, if you, like me, are a die-hard Linux fan, Piranha represents one of a very limits number of professional-grade tools available to independents like me, in a price-range I can afford. Piranha has been around for quite a while, just, until now, priced out reach for all but the 1%. With the release of Piranha 7, IFX has also released a OS X port as well. Anyway, I digress... the link to the discussion on RedUser, along with a very unprofessional YouTube video I made to help get people started with the interface, etc. http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthr...-amp-Linux-995 Link to my tutorial: http://youtu.be/xjDwTzWGE3E I'll try and keep up on this thread as well. Cheers, --Kyle

IFX, great developers putting high end tools into the hands of more users with more competitive pricing, and making Linux a stronger platform.

Would love an updated version of Amazon paint, it would really rock the boat. A new Linux and mac release would be amazing. Cinepaint is stale.
Especially after reading this:
