HCM #34- Masters Tribute: Jean Giraud "Moebius"- unknown sketch

Hello,

I've found this sketch a few days ago on internet:

I don't know where it come from, 1977 could mean a dune study (but i don't think so) a part of a comic strip ...maybe it's a solo draw for "metal hurlant" .... so if anyone have a clue, i'm really interrested.

The ship may be a dirigible (due to the ropes) and i'll have to invent the top part of it.
Maybe i'll use another moebius sketch to make it a part of a diorama (i've some ideas that mostly depend on time i'll be able to spend on this challenge).

I like the level of detail of this sketch and i will try to keep the sketch feeling of the mechanical part, hardly working on edges, bevels and smooths.

The bottom looks like a boat and the first character looks like its figurehead, so i'll try to keep this feeling.

I've already started a model and i'll post some pictures this weekend.

Thanks for reading and sorry for my average frenglish.

laurent.

Hi,

I still have many things to tweak, but i'm not that far from the original picture:

Thank you!

Here is a snapshot of a sculpt start of the foreground character. I was bored with edges split and vertex move ...time for a mudbox break:
