im not sure what you may think but zbrush does not do mutable colors at once or mutable materials at once or mutable textures at once with a insert brush that is converted to a fiber mesh insert brush.

a insert fiber brush will give you more control on how you want the hair to flow BUT zbrush uses radial count which would not work, radial count is bases on a circle and wont do you any good on a fiber mesh insert brush, so what you would need is a 1 axis count, lets say 6 cursor dots across the forehead with 6 dots and turn your model to the side and now you can have 6 hair flow controls going from the front of the head to the back of the head and have it taper settings to the back of the head.

fiber brush has no copy and paste settings, the gravity messes up according to the camera if you use other setting so why not have gravity x,y,z that dont conflict with other setting's.
plus there is no fiber mesh Reset settings

from root to tip what about a third color or gradient setting between the two.

i dont see where you can cut off the fibers at the mesh on the inside, it seams it goes inside and out side of the mesh,
wouldn't that decrease the polycount if there is no inside fibers?

the masking gives you control where the fibers are at but gives you no control on how you want to place them, look at the deco brush and can control the flow and directions.

the fiber setting are not in real time because you must make adjustments Then you see the results,
you dont see them in real time while your adjusting the settings, kind of like tool>deformation
where you can.
plus zbrush had no area render so you can't pick a area to render, you have to wait and render the hole thing which takes time and area render would speed that problem up
