Some Help on Texturing Would be Greatly Appreciated...

Hello. Just a quick question. I'm working on some poly modeled characters and I need to find out how to texture them. I've heard about UV mapping, multiple material ids and such, but i always get lost in the explanation. If anyone can help me out, or at least point me to some good tutorials, i'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks

This will do the trick (at least for me it does). It takes some time but you'll get some nice UV layouts.
If anyone does know a faster way to do this i really like to hear it
