AE particular on tracking points

So i imported boujou tracking into AE. I want to connect Particular to one of these points. But no matter what i try, the emitter stays in the same place and doesnt move with the null object

What to do about this?
Thanks in advance.

How did you connect the emitter with your null-object?

Well, i finally copied the position of the Null object and pasted that onto the emitters position. That seems to work, but offcourse you have the Z depth with footage behind it. You have to mask out some parts and work with the Z emitter size.

Maybe you have other suggestions?

Thanks for your answer.

As long as you get the result you're after, every solution is fine.

Usually I link the emitter to a null via expressions.

I don't quiet understand what you are saying about z depth and emitter size.
When you place your footage under the Particular layer, there should be no problem.
Maybe you can explain your problem a little bit more.

Well, the emitter is at a certain Z depth, but in the footage i have obstacles(cars) in front of that z depth. So i have to mask those cars. Also when the Z emitter size is to big, the particles seem to float over the footage. I hope i say this correct in english.

Ok, now I know what you mean.

Thanks for your explanation.

And good luck with your project of course.
