Change in Plans...

To honor the memory of Ray Harryhausen we will be doing a challenge in his honor.

More details soon.

I know he just passed, but hasn't this already been done?

Agreed.
It was a long time ago, and honestly this man deserves it.

That was actually the first HMC challenge I participated in, I was still in college at the time. Man time flies.

Being as it's been done before, it might be fun to do a Harryhausen challenge where you could maybe re-imagine one of his creatures. Maybe give them a bit of an update if you should choose so?
Just a thought!

Well That's a challenge I will come for. Sinbad was by far the best mystic creatures design in my childhood

What would it look like if Ray was working on one of his films now with Gomotion. I think we should keep the essence of his creatures but enhance them. They should look like the originals or the DNA of the originals should be there.

so when do we start? I have a Ymir to make.

I have never done one of these challenges..But ever since Ray passed I wanted to release my inner Harryhausen. What are the rules of the game?

Thanks
Greg

Roberto will post a master thread that explains everything and the deadlines. But if you want to get an idea of what it will be like check here http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthr...f=208&t=1093068, the master thread for the Femme Fatale challenge. It won't be much different than that.

One thing to keep in mind. Not everyone participated in the last Harryhausen challenge. I hadn't worked up the nerve yet to try competing in the HMC so I missed it. I'm sure I'm not the only one. Well, all I know is if I participate, I'm doing Medusa, no question. Clash of the Titans was 1 of 3 video tapes we had growing up so I can't tell you how many times I watched that movie.
