16 bit video RGBA

is it possible to render a video file in 16 bit RGBA? I'm on windows and I need to render a very high-resolution (4-5K) video file, and it does not seem to be possible...

Image sequences are not an option for this.

No. If at all, it would be dependent on a proprietary CoDec like the ones associated with video capture hardware and those would be useless without the hardware. Circular argument of sorts...

Thanks Mylenium!

I have done some tests... It's sad that I was never able to render to ProRES 4444 on my windows machine, it could have been the perfect solution. So it seems that I will be forced to render an 8 bit file. I have very good results in size and quality with a quicktime PNG. I might try with Jpeg2000, I just received this link yesterday:

Maybe with this format I could keep my file size low and they say it's a lossless compression. I said image sequences were not an option but I'll try it anyway. Cheers
