camera face selected poly face

Wouldn't it be nice if you could align your view (both pesp and orthos) to a poly face or to the average of poly faces...well I looked high and low and can't find any script or tool/plug-in out there that does this. This at 1st surprised me but then i thought I'd write my own ....well I soon discovered that try'n to get the normal direction of face in world space is not easy..... I tried doing this with a helper plane and using the snap align 3points to 3points but the camera does some nasty stuff............any ideas!!

You can select your face, switch to object mode, select a locator, and apply the point on poly constraint. Line your camera up to the transforms of the locator.

After the camera is lined up, you could delete the locator in your script.

Select faces by normal angle? 3dsMax does this very well,... and as I'm using Maya these days,.. its a very missed feature. I used it every day when modelling.
(select face,.. check option box for normal angle,. and select or change its angle). It will select all faces within that range.
Yeah, in Maya you can select one face,.. then the next and double click for the round faces, but its still missing this. ala Nex features missed just this one which was added....

Damn man,... that fast?.. Not sure if you have used Diamont tools which he is charging for now, .. and I'm not sure if its in your tools already,.. but add that to yours, and it would pretty much everything for modelling I need. And my team. I'll talk to my cg sup to see if they can purchase it for the team.
thanks
