UV render problem

Hallo,

I have a problem with geting uv render from 3ds max. I selected only few polygons of the my object and than I applied Unwrap UVW modifier. I hit edit button and there I saw my selected polygons nicely placed where they should be. But when I rendered my UV layout only with this polygons It came out with differently like it really looks like. In rendered layout it looks like that polygons are not retriangulated. I did retriangulation of polygons and also reseted xform and it did not help.

When I render UV layout of the whole object the UVs looks great on render. This apears only if I have selectend few polygons.

Do you have any suggestion how to make this right ?

It is because you have large ngons. You need to keep your faces to 4 or 3 sides otherwise that is possible. Add a Turn to Poly set the maximum number of edges to 4 below the Unwrap and redo the unwrap.

Basically the issue you are running into is how the edges are turned. The more undefined/invisible edges you have the more likely you are to run into the situation you have just experienced. By manually connecting vertices/cutting faces you can control how invisible edges fall on faces. There is also the Turn option to edit triangulation, but there is no guarantee that data will make it as modifiers and data type conversions come into play.
