Question How do I increase geometry/polygon count to an extruded object?

I decided to convert a 2D logo done in Ai to 3D for a client, and for some reason I can't seem to get a very smooth object. This logo is made out of a ring and some intersecting lines inside of it (all one piece), and I figured this would be a very simple process of dropping the spline into an Extrude Nurbs object. While the extrusion worked fine, the problem is that I get a somewhat choppy ring. And while this is also fine for a small logo, it is very noticeable when enlarged. So, my question is, how do I increase geometry or polygon count to the ring area so that it is very smooth all the way around? Any help is much appreciated.

Select the spline and mess with the Intermediate Points (and parameters below) to increase/decrease the accuracy of the generated spline.

Also try lowering the Angle of the splines (0° will generally give you a smooth shape but with very dense geometry).
