change deformer attributes from selected objects

Hi guys,

Im trying to change the attributes from the deformers applied to selected objects at once using mel script.
But I cant figure out how to do that.

When I select the deformers from my object in the Channel Box/Layer Editor in the script editor appears:
select -addFirst wire1 ;
select -addFirst ffd1 ;
select -addFirst ffd2 ;
etc..

For this guys:
setAttr "wire1.scale[0]" 0;
setAttr "wire1.dropoffDistance[0]" 1;
I know that the Attributes from the wire are "floats" (or are they "linear" ?)
But how to change the Attributes using mel script?

If you can help me I will appreciate.

Thnx in advance.

EDIT:

Hi guys,

I found the way to change the values via MEL, but now Im stock trying to add the selected Vertices attached to a curve using a wire deformer.

string $selSet[] = `ls -sl`;
string $Vertices = $selSet[0];
string $Curve = $selSet[1];
wire $Vertices $Curve;

For some reason i cant adjust the desired values in the wire deformer.
I cant see any change.
The curve and the Geometry are attached, but with any change

-gw expects a boolean value.

Try this...

wire -gw 1 $object $wire;
