I find it interesting nobody against guns will answer the question. What this girl should've done instead of use a gun?
Are you seriously asking that question? Lets see.. a burglar breaks a window to enter the home.... I know Im not from US, but in my country you protect your home instead of giving guns to your childrens. And by protecting I mean, get a wired fence, steel bars in the windows, a Superlock door or an alarm.
She is lucky the burglar is a moron who makes a lot of noise in order to steal an unprotected home. If she were sleeping or listening to music while the burglar broke the window, the story would probably be totally different.
EDIT... by the way, I come from a country were even the house of an ex-president was robbed for lack of better security.

Written like a true gun enthusiast.
What should this girl have done instead of using a gun?
Beside, since she had ample time, getting the fík out of the single level house that she new like the back of her hand since she lived there?
Do you really think that someone who opposes the possession of firearms, ideologically, would pass up the chance to use one in an actual life and death situation if it were easily accessible? In a life threating situation, ANY human being will use ANY MEANS NECESSARY and available to preserve life.
Are all gun nuts morons?
What was this gun enthusiasts problem when she was shot multiple times in her bed, in house full of guns?
Why didnít this gun owner protect himself against a home invasion that resulted in his death along with the death of his daughter and attempted murder of his wife? He wasnít counting on that particular scenario?
This happened a mile up the road from my brotherís house a year before my brother, the schizophrenic gun owner, blew his brains out with a 38 watching the sunrise one morning.
