Question Need help for rendering cost

Hi All, Merry Xmas and happy new year to all of u guys.

I am a noob here, currently I am going to create my graduate project. I'd like to ask, usually how much money should I prepare for rendering this kind of project ? did you guys render your graducate project at school or outside such as online renderfarm ? usually how much did you cost ?

Thank you !

happy new year
I usually render myself for small projects ..but for a graduate film
you probably want to do it at a render farm if its taking too long to render
one frame at your school or house..(usually schools can offer a night render in their computers network..which can be great for some cases..so its better to try and check it with them..)
anyway..I can recommend this render farm link below for you to calculate the costs
it came out at a very good price last time I checked ..
good luck with your project!

Ah man, I remember those days!

I was lucky enough to be able to use our school's labs after hours and commandeer 30 workstations to get through my rendering. The only drawback is that I had to babysit them when they would crash, restart renders, gather frames, you name it. For about half a year, my schedule was get up in the "morning" at 3pm, and work until 6 or 7 am.

Could you build a couple of render boxes on the cheap? (well, cheap-ish?)

I'm thinking i7 processors, 1155 microATX board (so you'd have video without the need for a card), 16ish gigs of ram per box, cheap cases, fairly cheap PSU, 3 boxes?

I guess it really depends... this is actually my plan once the new Haswell chips come out in the spring, but that may be a little late.

Using a render farm is a great way to go if you've got a large project to finish and not a lot of time to get it done. At Render Rocket, we offer very competitive pricing as well as substantial discounted rates for students. Feel free to visit this link here for more information on student pricing:
