problem with alpha channel

Hi all, I have a problem with alpha channel settings. I can't check on alpha channel in bitmap rollout. That option is not available. I have a screen shot .

I've used .png format to try but still not available. Does anyone have an idea why is this happening?

Thank you

Well clearly you can't have an alpha in the image you've posted, as the image is a JPG. You mentioned that you tried with a PNG, but are you sure you actually saved the PNG with an alpha channel?

Definetely agree, please open your image in photoshop or etc.. and check the channels tab. Make sure you have an Alpha, as stated it seems as if your trying to export a .jpg and if the .png is not working out try another extension.

Save the alpha channel into a new file in all three color channels, use that file as a mask in a mask-map or mix-map.
One more file but less hassle and surprises.
