engineer character

hey guys!

thought id post my progress here as well to hopefully get some more feed back on my engineer concept for my demo reel. currently its allready lowpolyed and about 3/4 done the high poly of him.

and critique and comments are awesome!

hey guys, i think i finished the head, cept for ima work on the hair a bit more

done the high poly and brought into maya to take some complete shots of it so i could see everything at full, and to show you guys!

now to uv this guy, i think im going to break it up into 4 maps to fully utilize udk

thanks comar

update: just finnished bking and brought into udk to test out some texture work.
i still need to do the eyes and add all the other small details like grease marks/stains and also need to colour the tank and fittings on the back. as well as the welding unit.

thanks mihai112!

its acually my first whole character too, being a learning curve for sure, expessailly wrinkling clothes and making small details like defining the texture of the material.

for him i wanted to have as much different materials to better present in my demo reel.

after im done, im going to make a huge pipe wrench as a prop for him to weild.

just some more texturing work on him, think im getting very close to completing it jus have to work out some more areas and texture a few more tools.

im aware of the inverted normals on the rag in his back pocket didnt have time to fix yet as im heading to class now.

I think the details and textures are awesome! Only the face could use some color - at the moment he looks a bit dead.

And I miss the cool and loose style (huge wrench, tight and thin shoes) from the concept - the final 3d model looks more realistic (but still great!).

thanks laber, ya im still going to give him the bigger wrench, its just gonna be a prop so I still have to model it yet.

i think im finally finnished!
now just to focus on presenting it

working on some presentation for the engineer, think im fairly satisfied and happy the way it turned out.
going to post up some 360's and close ups hopefully before the weekend.

any thoughts?
