i'm a big fan of u, noah. i have a big folder of nearly all ur work, including some early works. but honestly, what i wanna say about ur piece, i think u might need to do some contrast experiment, i mean it's good that the piece is quite worth looking, there're many details in the image. however, when we step backwards, the major topic isn't emphasised enough. u do have decreased the saturation of the background, make it different from the main character, but not enough. i think u might need to project more light on the character, make it more sculptable, the reflection in the shadows shouldn't have the same brightness as the light part. u can draw much difference with warm and cool colours. i thnk the spectator need a target in the painting to focus on in the first sight, and then, he or she shall appreciate the other part, like the background, the colors, the brushes u used.
still it's a great piece, keep on working. |
