Vray Light Cache | Screen vs World scale


I understand the concept of world scale unit of the light cache in Vray and why rays seem bigger in front of the camera a bigger in the background.

I don't understand the screen scale. I can read somewhere that vray will try to have similiar size of rays throughout the wole image which makes sense but the rays will be smaller in front of the camera (it does indeed) which makes no sense for me.

Could someone enlight me for a bit?

World scale means the lighting polygons have a fixed scale in world units, screen scale means that the lighting polygons have a fixed scale in your viewport.

That means that when using screen scale a lighting polygon far away must be far bigger than near the camera to achieve the same screen size in your viewport.

World scale means that the lighting polygons have equal "real" world size, therefore the ones that are further away from your point of view will be actually smaller on screen than the ones that are near you.
