Using the Points after Polygons delete?

I actually use them quite a lot. So it's better to have them there and delete them afterwards. Then you have a choice.

Having both options is fine.

(As long as one doesn't get a qualifier chaos like with the "Move" tool.)

No, definitely not in general and always!
There are situations where they are indeed needed.

Okay, as an option that would be absolutely okay of course.

I also made myself some scripts and plugins where an optimize step to remove unconnected points is included. I even wrote my own function to select/remove so called edge points because all these built in mesh check functions of Cinema 4D can unfortunately not be used in a script or plugin for now (I really hope, that changes in the future).
