does Pflow handle this?

Currently I'm working on a project where I have particles in a grid, that make up a screen. I want to activate the particles and 'do stuff' with them, but then, I want them to 'snap' back where they came from. But I'm finding that with PFlow, once a particle changed its position, there is no way for it to 'know' where it came from.

Any ideas how to solve this problem? I've never used TP, but I could get into it, if I knew that this was the only way forward.

You could use a script operator and read/assign a particle's transformation.

I think I might know what you're looking for. I did this video here That reads the color values of a texture and then "scales" by that value. I used Box 3 for it though.

Anselm's "Pflow Toolbox Office Volume 1" has the exact thing( as I got my idea from him), except his is scaling by music amplitude.

Hope that helped!
