Thumbs up Sourcing and envoking script over the server...again

Hello all,

I'm looking to change the following to call a script located on a server, as to propagate updates to the entire department.

I did this long ago but can't remember what syntax to define a path and which way the backslashes go ( "/" or "\")

Server location: "Y:/maya/scripts/drugoverloards/pabloEscobar.mel"

rehash;
source "pabloEscobar.mel";
pabloEscobar;

Any info is appreciated

you need to have a valid path set in your ".env" file in the local maya directory, then those script will be source. That's how I do it anyway.
hope it helps

Maya can use either / or \. You can even mix the 2 and it'll work. Not a good practice, but it works.

Panupat, Matt thnks for the input.

Matt, could you eleborate a lil more?

Here's how I open imf_disp.exe from Maya Shelf: (not a scripter btw)

string $scriptsPath = `internalVar
-userScriptDir`;
chdir $scriptsPath;
system ( "start \"C:/Program
Files/Autodesk/Maya2013/bin/imf_disp.exe" );

not familiar with the env file, so pathing the script in the env will source on opening maya?

thnks,
Fess
