Maya + V-Ray batch rendering: -im flag is not used

I'm currently attempting to create a batch render script with V-Ray for Maya. I'm using the Render command line tool but the -im flag (which sets the output image filename) is not used: it always uses the filename that is set in the .mb file itself.

That's not what I want because I want to create multiple images from the same .mb file (using showHidden en hide to create different scenes).

Does anyone have an idea why the -im flag is not working?

When I use the Maya software renderer, it does use the -im flag.

Which V-Ray version is that?

Best regards,

I must say that I have figured it out: if the filename contains underscores then the argument is not used. Maya (or V-Ray, not sure) does not save the image under the given name but it uses the filename that is specified in the Render Settings dialog. When I replaced the underscores with a different character then it did work.
