Low Poly Cessna 172 Skyhawk

I've started a low poly aircraft set of models, textures, etc. I would like to share an early preview of the first aircraft I'm working on, the Cessna 172. These are going to be highly detailed aircraft without the super high polygon density of most aircraft models found on the web. I'm moving on to the interior cabin model/textures this week.

Check it out in real time in a Unity Webplayer:

Thought I'd post up the Work-In-Progress Cessna interior cabin. I've started modeling the exterior model for the Learjet, but didn't neglect to come back and do some more work on the cabin for the Cessna. I'll have some imagery for the Learjet within the next day or two. 850 polygons for the interior Cessna cabin so far.

Cessna 172 Interior cabin is completed and shipped off to be rigged up for flight! Interior model came in at 2,870 polygons. Here is a webplayer preview.

Cool! Your nose isn't quite right though, it's too narrow and rounded; the real 172 has a blunter nose, with a near-flat top - it's hard to say exactly what's off but I feel like this is a part of it;

Hey Fresh,
I see what you're saying, but I think its just a perspective lens difference between the photo's real life camera lens and the 3d programs calculated view angle which is probably larger than the camera's giving the plane more stretching and distortion (aka making its nose longer)

...not sure, but just my guess, hehe

Hey James,
Nice updates! I really like the interior, brings back some great memories for me. My dad flew a little Cessna for the longest time when i was a growing up

Question for you,
Are the circular dial insets for the instrument panel modeled or normal mapped?
Can't wait to see more of your models!

>Bergquist - you might be right. I'd need to see a Verold viewer to figure it out

WIP of the current Piper Cherokee, still needs some tweaking and about 35% more texturing to be done, details, rivets, vents, etc.
