Nuke Roto and Keying

low res version of my clip. I need to roto and key this wolf out of the environment. I have tried everything to key out the background for the edges. Clearly I need to use multiple keyers but no matter what I do I cant get a good result. Ive been using color correct nodes to get a better BGFG contrast and lumi keyers.
Thanks any advice apreciated

Without actually seeing what you've done already, here is some general advice...

* Garbage matte certain areas first. This will allow you to break your keying down into smaller, more manageable areas.
* Try break your roto down into smaller shapes (see image below). This will allow you to concentrate on areas where there is more movement. How much you break them down is up to you - you might want to break down the paw into toes in order to keep your shapes simple.
* Where ever possible try place your pivot points of each shape near joints - elbows, knees, etc - this makes it easier to animate the shapes.
* Only move points (CVs) around as a last resort. Try to move, rotate and scale the shapes first. This will mean you get proper interpolation between keyframes - less keyframes means cleaner roto.

You may also use these garbage masks to luma/chromakey parts of the image.

If the shot is static you may try to paint a clean plate from various frames and use it for a difference key.
