Maya and Unity Exporting Issue
Hey! This is kind of a Maya issue, kind of a Unity Issue. I was hoping someone around here could have an answer or advice of some kind? I'm not exactly sure if this is the right forum for this but it seemed to fit best.
We've been trying to get some animations in the game, and we're having two specific issues which we've been spending a couple days trying to figure out. Just wondering if anyone else had some further insight?
We have a quadruped which we're having run around a level.
First we have a standing animation, where the orientation of the front paws are rotated to the front for some reason and not standing flat. (So it looks like He's standing on his tip toes.) The most we could figure out on this is that Unity may be averaging the weights between it's standing animation and running, but we couldn't figure out how to correct this to where he's standing with his paws flat when still, and running normally when running. Any advice on this? Is there something we could export from Maya to not get it to do this?
Second is a weird one where our animations don't import properly. We have animations that work just fine at first, but when we tweak them and try to put them in the game after they've been tweaked, they don't work after the correction. We've tried saving it out in several file types (DAE, mb, ma, baking it outright) and it's not playing. We've also tried adjusting the naming conventions but it still doesn't work - Even though, strangly enough, Maya seems to name things differently sometimes despite us not making any changes to the file. The weird part is it works for the initial file, then stops working after it gets saved out from Maya a second time.
