Texture and lighting are amazing, really like the overall atmosphere of the picture, I would have liked a more dramatic camera angle with more depth in the field, to see more of the panorma. But frontpage is well deserved here, no less than 4 stars to me.

could we PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, see the grayscale image? i know people have got polite and stopped asking, but you would really be teaching us a hell of a lot if we could just get an idea of how you did it...

if your afraid of piracy, watermark it up, and make the image tiny, like 512x512 max, so it cannot be used?.. anyway, thanks a lot for this image, its great photorealistic work.

Nice image. The displacement and snow texture resolution don't really hold up on the highres render though. The snow could use some finegrained bump noise in my opinion and the little displacement peaks in the foreground look too CG. Just needs some more visual details imo.
