Batch Rendering problems!!! :(

Hi

I'm currently trying to render an animation and have come across extremely slow batch render times. When i render in the render view it take 5mins to render a frame. But as soon as i start to batch render my animation its taking more like 40mins per frame. Can anyone help me solve this problem?

I'm using a : Intel Xeon X5650 @ 2.67ghz
: 24.0 GB

Check that you are using all of your cpus when batch rendering.
There is a text field in the batch render option that lets you chose how many of them you want to use.
If you are rendering through command line you can use a flag to specify it (if I remember correctly it should be -n NUMBER_OF_CPUS for maya software and -rt NUMBER_OF_CPUS for Mental Ray)
