Gotta give my apologies in advance, I'm new to modeling and only do it as a hobby.
Anyhow, I was working on a cthulhu type animal. Created an entire rough body with zspheres. Turned into a high poly adaptive skin.
Unfortunately, in some areas that requires higher detail (primarily the face) the mesh detail is really low. I can't add detail or textures without the mesh showing really badly.
I assume this is where I'm suppose to do a retopology. Sadly, I've never been successful with this step in the sculpting process. I've looked through the sticky'd topology thread, but was wondering if there is some easier alternative. I was looking into 3-D Coat as an alternative, but wanted to know if it is any better than just zbrush.
Also, for future reference, can you make certain parts of your model have a higher subdivision as opposed to other? As in, only divide areas you know will have more detail and leave certain spots with a lower poly count?
Thanks for any tips you can give...
