Orienting insert mesh with curve

Hi everyone,
I am trying to create the body of a snake but I am having some difficulties. Following the suggestions of several sites and tutorials I have made an insert mesh of part of the body and am using the curve stroke to obtain the whole body. I must say the tool is very impressive (especially the triparts!) but I am having one problem, I am not able to orient the rotation of the curve, that is to say once I start moving the curve around to give it some movement parts of the body rotate along the axis of the curve (i.e. the "belly" of the snake is on the side instead of the bottom). Dose anyone know how to orient the mesh along the curve?

Before you create your insert mesh brush you have to orient it correctly on the canvas. Try snapping it 90 degrees on the canvas and recreate the insert mesh brush.

Thanks for the reply. Yes I did that, snapping it using the shift key, and the various inserted meshes align well, but they rotate in a "heliocoidal" way. I took a snapshop the problem (it's actually a Medusa (as in the greek mythological creature). The curve is actually a straight line but the pieces rotate.

I see your problem. The parts are twisting along the axis of the curve incrementally which makes each piece slightly misaligned. This can be difficult to get perfect if you're trying to achieve a seamless organic shape using this method. You might be better letting each piece slightly overlap. Dynameshing the tool and manually sculpting the seams.
