Strange artifacts/shapes in MR RTT

I've started making one of my models into lo-res for use in real-time engines. The lo-res model was completed and unwrapped, so I went ahead and tried to bake the textures.

However, this is when it got weird.
While I could've expected black areas from bad projections, or missed rays, what I got was something I'd never seen before:

Note how the diffuse map has some bright, strange lines along the face and, on the same location on the bump map, there's shapes that I can't even begin to describe.

After examining the viewport and comparing the hi-res and lo-res models, I realized that it's possible that the lo-res model is causing the artifacts by intersecting with the hi-res one:

I've disabled all the lo-res geometry (except for the body, which I'm baking) so that it doesn't cause any issues, and the lo-res body has been explicitly set to have no material ($material = null).

Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing it?
