Model is crashing Maya 2012 sp2. Is there a way to locate offending geometry?

I have a turbosquid polygon model that is in Maya 2012. The model isn't particularly clean, but it worked for a while until I started animating vertices. Now it crashes when I jump from single view wireframe to 4-view with the shotCam shaded.

Is there a way to locate the offending geometry so that I can fix it? I have deleted history and cleaned up the model.

Okay..

I have narrowed the crash to only occurring when I jump from single view wireframe to 4-view shaded shotCam WHILE A QUICK SELECT SET of POINTS IS SELECTED. If I hit the spacebar while the object is selected (not components like vertexes), then no crash. But if I have individual vertex(es) selected, it crashes when going back to 4-view layout.

Ant it happens regardless of if the 4-view has a shaded camera view or wireframe.

Hey Steve.

I'd love to help narrow this one down. It sounds related to something else that I know a few QA's have been struggling to reproduce.

Did you submit any CER's when it crashed?
