Gargoyle Excercise 1, Michael Sartore (Animation)
Title: Gargoyle Excercise 1
Name: Michael Sartore
Software: Lightwave 3d 7.5 - 8
Here is a small animation I made to practice character animation and a new rig.
I have just switched over to Lightwave 3D and am doing a revision and expansion of this animation while using soft dynamics on his wing's webbing.
I will have him soar through puffy clouds and encounter a little angel.

Very nice model!
The animation looks good, the gargoyle is moving well, except....
The wings look very stiff and have very little movement, you've modelling some bones into the wings, yet the webbing between them never moves. This is most noticeable when he runs at the end, his wings are stiff the whole time. But you may be planning on changing this anyway.
One more thing, just before he starts running, his wings and tail move slightly, however, the tip of his left wing is exposed and appears untextured. It happens just after he shakes his head.
Looking good never the less.

the model is ok...but the animation is really WIP..or not?
the gargoyle stay pratically freezed for about 60% of the timeline...the movements of each part (head, wings, ecc) have to been mixed...now they appear rigid..like a robot. I think you have to give him more cartoon energy !
the start of the run seems to be better...but few frames...
good start, anyway----

Easy to fix
Just put some idle animation and perhaps an anticipation to his first stride(squat him a little) in the beginning and it'll be good to go.
