Softimage dynamic Car crash, dent, collision, damage I need help.

Hey guys anyone know how to do this or make this without the need of a third party plugins?
I have messed around all day with ICE, syflex, soft bodies and everything in between some help here?

http://vimeo.com/4254202

I have a decent understanding of Softimage though I am not that good with ICE but I can get around with it so Iím not going to flip if you give me a lot of information in order to build this ICE setup.

Check ICE deformations in Vimeo. There is something there if i am remembering right.

There is a video/compound/example scene or something like that with reciprocal push between objects.

That stuff can give you some help with cues, but ultimately the good, complex vehicle crash shots you see around have A LOT of hand animated shapes and debris. RBDS can and are used, again, for cues or for coarse grain animation, and of course you add sprays and puffs and all in abundance, but the actual crashes always need individual and manual attention.

the sample scene Jaco refers to is under XSI_SampleScenes - ICE - Deformation_Bi_directional_Mesh_to_Mesh_Deformatio n_with_Bulge.scn

but as Jaco said... manual shapes will make prettier looking deformations

Alright I got it and checked it out, thx guys for getting me headed in the right direction.

ALSO!! really quick change of subject. I am working on a project and Rigged my character, after I setup the UVs and incidentally froze my Mesh I lost all that rigging. I saved my character in increments so I can go back to the older versions of him when he was rigged and his mesh is still identical to the latest. How do I transfer the envolpes back to the latest version of my character?

"animate > envelope > edit weights", in the weight editor "file > save preset".Then envelope the frozen mesh to the same deformers and load the preset in the weight editor.

That should do the trick.
