The state of real-time fluid dynamics (for videogames)
So far all of these demos are using NVIDIA PhysX.
This one shows the new FLEX "Unified GPU PhysX" in action.

This is just awesome. Yea you can nitpick on the quality of the fluidsim but don't forget, this is the quality that solves at 30 fps (on a semi old GPU) instead of hours per frame. There's no way anything else can stand in the way of that technology if it works as advertised.

The PhysX videos have been out for a while now. Fish tank tests are the checker board texture of the simulation world IMHO.
How often does that match the scale and context of a game map?
What can it do with a mountain/cliff waterfall terrain built to scale to a six foot human? How many such waterfalls can you have in the same map?
What is that frame rate now?
Its all coming I'm sure. And has for awhile now. But I have yet to see it in a proper game...
