problem poly to subdiv
Hi!
ive never worked with subdivisions before, so i dont know really where to look at to solve the problems i am experiencied. ive tried a lot! i am trying to convert my modelled object into a subdiv , but when i do , it doenst do it right, lke you see in the pictures (holes). what should i do, or might be doing wrong? i am using maya 2012 ive already delete history, cleanup with manifold check. poly ![]() subdiv ![]() |

Hey man,
Have you tried using smooth mesh under the attributes tab? Your mesh might be smoothing like that because your polys aren't connected. Try using the merge tool under edit mesh. Sorry for the late response, AJ __________________

Hi Thanks for the answer!
I am following a modelling a car tutorial. the guy modelles everything with polygons and then subdiv instead of amooth because of the Crease Option for some Edges, if need. i could use smooth on everything but it wouldnt look so nice as the auto of the tutorial. ![]() What do you mean with merge? select object->merge and then try again polytosubdiv? i am trying to do it, but when i do merge to it and then try to polytosubdiv, i get --> Error: Command polyToSubdiv failed :( |

this is the error i become after making merge....
