Zoom options

how do I get the zoom to crop instead of scaling all relatively from where the mouse click is ?

Do you mean automatically cropping the zoomed area of the image that fills the window?

I think OP means the old school click click zoom on this rectangle. I'd check how, but I'm on CS4 w/o acceleration.

with the zoom-tool selected, just turn off 'scrubby zoom' (option should be just under the mainmenu...)
