Is anyone using 3rd party shaders for Arnold in Max 2018, for example the alshaders?

I'm having difficulty getting Max to find and recognise alshaders.

alshaders does not work for arnold5...
and they wont be supported ever cause the new arnold 5 shaders are superior/same...

I started having crashes today that only happened once before. I just had my 3rd forced shutdown and crash in a row, I'm working with a very low poly mesh and was just extruding each time it crashed on me. Is anyone else having problems while extruding?
It happened again on the very same spot, I'm using a working pivot and extruding these faces to model mudguard, it's getting interesting. I gotta think of another way to model it.

Luke121: if it's reproducible, I'd suggest attaching the file to the bug report (and the CER numbers as well if you have them).

I wish I had known about this earlier, I modeled that part by detaching it, so I can't reproduce that now. I'm going to send the file if starts acting like that in some part again.

They're too reliant on user requests.
They'll end up with something like this

that will bankrupt the division. Especially as they have stopped people from buying their software.

Besides, Autodesk has more software-applications than there are uses for those applications and it can't compete with itself so it ends up with a whole load of shit applications. 3ds max can do NURBS modelling, but they aren't going to improve this area because they do Alias-Surface. Maya does VFX, so they aren't going to develop this area either. The list goes on and on. No wonder they are out of ideas as to what to develop. They've either lost the tech-race to 3rd-parties, or they can't encroach on other, much more expensive, applications.

copy and paste geometry between 3D applications. Not only geometry but surface/material names, SubDs, weight maps, UV map.

So for those looking to either transition out from 3dsmax due to autodesk's push to rental or just those who use multiple apps day in day out too.



we'd really like someone to create a 3ds max version of this plugin, it's open source python so
a good maxscripter should have no real issues.
