jellyfish ncloth mesh going through passive collider
So I have this jellyfish (in maya 2012) http://www.sendspace.com/file/uae40g (download link is in blue that says 'download from sendspace').
I made one earlier with a regular mesh and squash deformer and paint effects tentacles, but I decided to make a more realistic one.
It's a passive collider with a second jellyfish head surrounding it, converted to nCloth. I constrained a ring of verticies ontop, and on bottom, so that the cloth would stick to the head but let the sides float and conform as the inside passive collider moves. I put a squash deformer on the inside part and animated it squashing upwards. The cloth for whatever reason, lags behind it and goes through the solid inside mesh, and slowly 'crawls' up it to get back to the top constrained part as the inside passive collider comes to a halt.
It's hard to explain unless you take a look at the maya file I linked and press play on the timeline, but I'm having trouble figuring out how exactly to constrain the cloth part to the inside part of the head of the jelly.
I even tried parenting the squash deformer to the passive collider and it makes it even worse (don't know what to do later then, when I need to animate it for real).
If anyone could give me advice that would be awesome! I've done very basic rigging on a hand and non-animated dynamics before so nothing like this.
