Rigging a cloth object

I need to rig two cloth objects and have them flap like a birds wings. I have no knowledge of rigging but I would like the wings to look like and be of a similar size to the petals that make up this flower in this example: http://vimeo.com/40690829.

They will be made using cloth in Cinema 4d, as this is the look I would like. I am just wondering where I would start when it comes to rigging something like this, as it isn't really a character and I don't want it to specifically look like a wing, more like the shape of the petals in the video.

I would really appreciate any help anyone has to give.

Many Thanks
