inheritance effector: controlling keyframed animations

hi all,

I was just looking at EJ's great tutorial https://vimeo.com/36464893 covering the triggering of keyframed animations in cloned objects using the inheritance effector.

this got me wondering:

would it be possible to pause an animation based on the falloff of the inheritance effector?

For instance, as the effector/falloff approaches the cloned object(s), the animation begins, and proceeds until the falloff reaches its maximum effect. But the animation stops, and doesn't continue until the falloff rolls off of the object, effectively allowing you to pause the clones' animation for any amount of time.

Sorry I don't have a concrete example of what I would like to try... just curious

thanks!
