Advice On Software
I am new to the 3d universe and would like to ask the members opinion on what software to start with.
I currently use Photoshop CS6 and Illustrator CS5 to produce sports themed posters and backgrounds. (Visit www.sportszonetemplates.com to see current work). I want to move into a more photo-realistic type of design for my backgrounds.
As a newcomer and with no knowledge at all of 3d and the various software programs, what would be the members recommendations for software to start with to create better 3d photorealistic designs.
I have been offered an unopened version of Cinema 4D Studio R12 as a trade from a client who wants some work done in exchange for the software.
Thanks for any reply's.

General Discussions Rules - PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING
1. Absolutely no "What software should I use", or "App versus App" threads.
This includes any thread asking for software comparisons or purchasing advice in any context. Please do not try to creatively get around this rule; we've seen them all before. The reason why these discussions are not allowed is simply due to the fact that they tend to end in pointless bickering amongst people who often don't know what they're talking about anyway. So don't do it. Please refer to this thread for more information.
