Alternative CG figure references

Just wondering if anyone has used http://suicidegirls.com as a reference for modeling alternative CG figures and outfits.

I've heard others mention it, but I wouldn't try it, because:
1. All the thumbnails look the same, like plain-Jane high school softies (not much muscle tone nor curves, no ethnic girls, no really fat people, no men or older people etc)...
2. You mentioned clothes reference - what clothes? If I want reference for piercings and goth fashion I use Google Images
3. It costs money!
4. There's a much better resource for similar money, over 54,000 huge images of all kinds of people, all angles, clothing, lighting, props, animals, etc...
http://www.3d.sk

Cool. I didn't know it had all that. I'll take a look at it again. Thank you.

What about http://female-anatomy-for-artist.com, http://human-anatomy-for-artist.com, anybody has experience with any of these two sites? It's a bit confusing to me, as they seem to be part of the same "network" as 3d.sk, though 3d.sk looks like it has way more content than the other 2 sites taken together. Do these ***-anatomy-for-artist.com contain just some subsets of 3d.sk or are they all distinct? The monthly fee is the same, if I could subscribe to only one which one would you guys suggest?

I'm sure those sites are fine. I was looking mainly for references for punk/goth GC.

They are distinct. The "human" one is all male, the "female" one is all attractive females. I haven't seen the male one, but the female one has much more poses - fewer selection of models, but more variety in the poses - than 3d.sk. There may be some overlap, there's just too many images for me to be able to tell, but if so it's not much.

Thanks for the response, Stahlberg, did not expect it anymore for this thread is quite old already . Just one thing from me to add, since meanwhile I'm a member of the female-anatomy-for-artist.com site.

The term "attractive" is surely relative, but to me the strength of this site lies in the fact that it features not only "attractive" females (at least "attractive" in the common sense of this word as used in the western part of the world - phew, what a monster of a sentence, but you gotta back yourself up before the flames start to pour in, right? ) but also anything in between. So you've got women there in all flavours: thin, thick, young, old, even a Liliputian, female bodybuilder and one with scars on her body. To me, good value for money (around 10EUR a month), and new models are getting added every once in a while.

Thumbs up Female-Anatomy-For-Artist

I joined the Female Anatomy for the artist site the other day - it's not all "attractive" females, in the common sense of the word, there are a couple of very overweight women on there, a dwarf, and a couple of older ladies and a bodybuilder, and the younger "attractive" ones range in all sorts of weight and height, and colour and flexibility. It's actually a really useful site for an artist. Suicide girls is more sort of soft porn than good reference, though some of the images are extremely artistic and I've used them before as well.

I'll be joining the Human anatomy one as well (unfortunately, even though they seem to be related they ask you to join both for the low-low price of $13.50 each) to dl some of the male reference pics.

[edit, what the above poster said ]
