How to cause all the ".message" attributes into a string array

i tried this with no success
listRelatives -typ "message" nurbsCircle1;

got the solution
listAttr -ud nurbsCircle2;

but there must be a better way to filter only .message Attributes

The ".message" attribute is not a custom attribute, so "listAttr -ud" used at a default nurbs circle should return nothing. Attributes are also not DAG objects you could query with "listRelatives". The message attribute is commonly used to point to objects, for example if you create a texture reference object, the reference shapes .message attribute points to the target shapes .referenceObject attribute. If you want to get objects that are connected via certain attribute plugs, use "listConnections" or "connectionInfo". For example: string $connectedObjects[] = `listConnections -source 1 -destination 1 -plugs 0 "nurbsCircle1.message"`. Gets you objects connected to .message as input or output. Returns an empty array on a default nurbsCircle, btw.
