[MentalRay] Soap Bubble shader

Hey guys,

as the title states I need to create soap bubble shader inside maya and render it with mentalray, my searches gave zero results basically, even though there were some 5-year-old themes here that were useless swell, and I tested highend3d soap bubble shader and it was semi-usable and I did check out the DT course on soap bubble shader with RenderMan, unfortunately couldn't apply techniques for renderman in mentalray system. So I ask the most powerful community, maybe someone created such a material in their projects and would like to share technique ?

From looking at the first few images it looks like a mia material with a rainbow colour ramp in the reflection colour, high transparency and a low ior.

I had nothing better to do at the moment so I made one. Here you go.

Make a mia_material_x.
Make it a glassThin preset.
Set refraction color to white.
Set IOR to 1.33 (water)
disable "skip reflection on inside" in the advanced reflection tab

Make a crater 3Dtexture. Hook it up with reflection color in the mia_material.
Enable color remap in the effects tab of the crater material.
Edit the remap ramp until it has the colors of a rainbow.
adjust shaker, melt, balance and frequency in the crater texture until you get a rainbowy look.

EDIT: don't make the rainbow 100% saturated. make it maybe 70% - 80% saturated
